Today in "ideas I thought up last night while trying to go to sleep": federated discussion boards. Sort of "Usenet for Web 2.0", or "<Unnamed> does to Reddit what Mastodon does to Twitter".
Basic idea: Mastodon OAuth login for identity/profile, boards live on one instance where the instance admins have absolute moderation privs, but you can subscribe from any home instance and be a board mod from any home instance.

I love the concept of reddit, but can't handle the amount of hate on that site.
